Meet Our Chiropractors
Chiropractor in Logan City : Dr Mark Pickford

“I’m a chiropractor and my Dad was a pharmacist. I think that surprises a lot of people.
“Growing up in a small country community of 3,000 in North Queensland and being sent to the city to Church of England Grammar as a boarder at the age of 15 was a big shock. During that time, my parents moved from Mareeba to the Gold Coast a big change for a family from the bush. Then off to University in Melbourne for five years.
“I was encouraged by my pharmacist father to become a chiropractor in 1976. He recognised the need to change the emphasis on dangerous, often over-prescribed medications whose only goal was reduction of the symptoms. Dad thought that chiropractic was a sensible career and a business of the future. “Dad was right.”
Chiropractic Education
Dr. Pickford graduated from RMIT in Melbourne in 1981 after a five-year degree course in Chiropractic. After graduating, Mark set up his chiropractic practice in Beenleigh. He served the profession on the executive of the Chiropractic Association of Australia from 1982 and later became president of the Queensland branch for two years. He continued this service when he was appointed to the Queensland Registration Board in 1997 and became its chairperson for three years until he retired from the position in 2002.

When This Logan City Chiropractor Isn’t Seeing Patients
“I love the sea! Living at Runaway Bay, a suburb of the Gold Coast, gives me access to the water so I can use our 30-foot boat for fishing and recreation, plus put my Jet Ski through its paces. I also enjoy traveling, not only around Australia, but overseas. However, there’s nothing quite like the Australian bush for camping and touring. I also fill my spare time with fishing and boating and attempting to keep up with my children who play rugby and basketball at very high levels.
“Perhaps you’ll resonate with my favourite quote, “Out of intense complexities, simplicities occur.”
“I hope I get the opportunity to meet you and become your family’s chiropractor. Ring our Logan City Chiropractic office today and let’s get started!”
